Children's Ministry

Amazing.  Awesome. Miracle. Delight.

Haven't you found that these common words take on new meaning and depth when you use them to describe your child? The heart of children's ministry at St. John is to teach kids about who God is and how these words apply to both GOD and THEM!  Through engaging teaching, supportive environments, and close knit small group classes, we guide kids towards a better understanding of what it means to have a real relationship with God. We want kids to know that the Bible is full of interesting stories that matter in their lives today, that fun and games are definitely allowed at church, that worship can be full of loud music and silly dancing, and that there are adults in the church who truly want to love and lead them closer to Jesus. In other words, we want them to know that where God is, life is a lot more amazing!

  • Vacation Bible School

We set our compass for July 14th-18th, 8:30–11:30am at St. John. This year, our explorers will navigate their way through God's love, learning how to follow Him as their True North — no matter where life takes them!

There are four adventurous ways to join the journey:

🙋 Be a Participant – Kids ages 3 and potty trained through completed 4th grade are invited to explore with us. Sign up using the QR code to add your child to our trek groups!

🙋 Volunteer – 5th graders and up can lead the way!

🎁 Donate Supplies – Help stock our compass packs.

🎨 Create Decorations – Bring the wilderness trail to life with your creativity!

Whether you join as a trekker, trail guide, or behind-the-scenes trailblazer, we’d love for you to be part of making this year’s VBS a mountain-top experience.  Don’t miss your chance to chart the course — it's going to be a peak experience you won’t want to miss!

  • Sunday school

All children (PreK-6th Grade) meet in their Sunday School classrooms from 9-10am.  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER!

The focus of Sunday School for our Pre-K/K and 1st/2nd graders is on the classic Bible stories which help to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning!  The focus for the older grades will follow the weekly Gospel reading to reinforce what is heard during worship!

  • Babies and Toddlers

Children are always welcome at worship, but if your child needs space and time to play, or parents need a break, our nursery is available on Sunday mornings for parents to use with their little ones. The nursery is located next to the Faith & Life Center for quick and easy access by parents.
