Children's Ministry

Amazing.  Awesome. Miracle. Delight.

Haven't you found that these common words take on new meaning and depth when you use them to describe your child? The heart of children's ministry at St. John is to teach kids about who God is and how these words apply to both GOD and THEM!  Through engaging teaching, supportive environments, and close knit small group classes, we guide kids towards a better understanding of what it means to have a real relationship with God. We want kids to know that the Bible is full of interesting stories that matter in their lives today, that fun and games are definitely allowed at church, that worship can be full of loud music and silly dancing, and that there are adults in the church who truly want to love and lead them closer to Jesus. In other words, we want them to know that where God is, life is a lot more amazing!

  • Sunday school

Our 3 and 4 year old preschool classes meet in their lower level classrooms beginning at 9:30am.

Kindergarten - 6th grade students participate in the first portion of the 9:30 worship service, either gathered in the front with their classmates or seated with parents.  Children a part of the opening music and Children's Sermon each week, then dismissed to their Sunday School classrooms.  BUZZ (by Group Publishing) is our fun, creative, and interactive Sunday School curriculum.  Each grade level has a unique theme each quarter that teaches a mixture of well-known and uncommon Bible stories.  Using game-like activities, lessons are packed with fun, surprise, and active participation that will expose kids to more of God's word in ways they won't forget.

  • Babies and Toddlers

Children are always welcome at worship, but if your child needs space and time to play, or parents need a break, our nursery is staffed and available on Sunday mornings. The nursery is located next to the Faith & Life Center for quick and easy access by parents.
