When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you."   Jesus said to him, "Feed my lambs."  John 21:15

At St. John, our focus on actively living out a faith that changes lives has a common thread:  a desire to care for the poor, to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to care for the sick, to support those in need.  We believe that it is everyone’s call to have a “life-changing and passionate faith in Jesus Christ” and our actions can truly change lives as we “feed the lambs” within our faith community, beyond our walls to the Cedar Valley and throughout the world!

Lutheran Services in Iowa

For over 150 years, Lutheran Services in Iowa has stood beside Iowa’s most vulnerable people, fulfilling a promise to respond to the love of Jesus Christ through compassionate service.  LSI partners with children, youth and families, people with disabilities, the elderly and people of refugee status – helping people in times of need, strengthening families and advocating dignity and social justice for our neighbors in the community.  St. John supports the work of LSI in our community through financial gifts from our Endowment Fund.
