At St John we have myriad opportunities for people to connect with each other and our communities through a variety of ministries. The menu below has them broken down by categories, but note that is simply for ease of navigation. We very strongly believe that one of the greatest gifts that we all have to offer is community with those in past and future generations, so you will find that many of these opportunities are inter-generational.

Everyone -- Our Church Family

At St John we are one BIG FAMILY!  In addition to church-wide events everyone is invited to be a part of, we are excited to be offering a MONTHLY family event, geared around a theme, that we can do all together.  These community events will be inclusive of all ages -- bring the whole family, come as a couple, or join us solo.  Each monthly activity will be meaningful, intentional and will have a "focus value" that comes directly from our Mission and Value Statement.  And the monthly family events will be respectful of your busy schedule as together we are St. John.

55 Plus+

The 55 Plus+ groups offer a variety of activities, fellowship, and study opportunities. St John has a wealth of active members in this group that are great examples of living out their faith, enjoying God's creation, and modeling thankfulness for all the blessings of friends, family, and the world in general.

St John offers a variety of ministries for adults of all ages. Bible studies, mission trips, service projects, and education to help in all stages of life. We believe that by sharing our gifts for ministry in the work of St John, and our local, national, and global communities, we can grow in our faith and continue to work towards becoming the disciples God calls us to be.

There isn't anything like the energy that children bring to a church, and St John is very deliberate about creating learning and growth opportunities for children of all ages. St John is a congregation that welcomes children in worship, even if they make a little noise! From preschool up through middle school you will find wonderful options for your children. Also, don't forget about the St John Preschool & Childcare Center and all it has to offer.

Men's ministry at St John is difficult to describe, it almost needs to be experienced! From deliberate fellowship and Bible study, like our annual men's retreat, to chicken wings and football games designed to open communication and fellowship opportunities, men's ministry at St John is truly Spirit led. St John believes in our call to live in community, and men's ministry seeks to help those of us with the tendency to try to "do it ourselves" by creating nurturing and caring relationships between guys of all generations.

Women's ministry at St John is entwined in everything we do. From mission trips, education, leadership, and a wealth of other groups and ministries, there are plenty of opportunities for women of all ages to engage in the community St John.

Young Adult

Both directly in the St John community, as well as through our partnership with the Lutheran Student Center, there are plenty of opportunities to start putting faith into action for young adults. St John also relies on the young adults of our community to help teach and lead in the Jr High and High School ministries, helping to bridge the transitions as the youth transition into adulthood. Mission trips, service projects, and special worship opportunities are all hallmarks of the Young Adult ministry at St John.

As most of us will attest to, the years from 7th through 12th grades can be some of the most unsettled and anxious times in a person's life. At St John we are deliberate in working with the youth to develop solid relationships with God, mentors, and friends as they walk those difficult roads. We work to offer a variety of opportunities for spiritual study in large group, small group, and bible and book study formats, as well as more socially based activities designed to help strengthen and develop healthy friendships as the youth grow in their faith.
